Good Vs. Bad Website Smackdown
To begin with, my example of a good website is Lululemon which is a popular clothing brand. This brand is known for being very expensive but once you see how their products perform and how they are tested to be the best of the best, the price will no longer matter. Lululemon offers a variety of clothing when it comes to training or just casual clothing for everyday wear. It is made for all ages and genders. Their website is very aesthetically pleasing with the way that they organize the pages with categories of men, women, accessories, shoes, studio, and even a category for gifts. When you hit a category, the page will open and offer you options of which type of fit you are looking for in that category. There are many types of clothing you can choose from and the range of sizes and colors they offer is amazing. On the side of the pages, there are options for you to choose your size, the color you are looking for, and the type of fit you want, this way the products shown will be custom to what you are looking for. At the bottom of the main page, the website has links you can use to see how this brand interacts with their community and they offer a link to inform you on their purpose and experience. Overall, this website is so organized and easy to navigate which supports my decision of telling you it is an amazing website.
Secondly, my example of a bad website is Shein. Shein is known for their inexpensive and cheap clothing that is not durable and is made of material that does not last long. When you first open their website, it is very overwhelming. It has way too many categories of product. I also feel as though this website is only targeted for young adults who wear cropped shirts and revealing clothing. Many of their products do not apply to older people. This website’s prices make you think the website is fake, and the reviews on their products are not good. They do not offer a plethora of colors or sizes like Lululemon does. It is very limited. Sometimes more than others, the website is a little slow and glitchy. In my opinion, the clothing is not very appealing and I would rather spend more money on clothes that will last me long on Lululemon than cheap clothing that does not last me at all on Shein.
My Smackdown Video:
hi Camryn, I like that you are attacking Shein. I always see their ads on random websites and I see how cheap the clothes are and it just doesn't make any sense. I feel like some people say they have good clothes but it is hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteCamryn,
ReplyDeleteI have actually never ordered from Shein but have heard lots of mixed reviews. I do love Lululemon. I can see how they are the better choice. I also can agree that even though Lululemon can be expensive you will benefit from choosing them over Shein. You get what you pay for and with Shein being so cheap, their quality is not great. I think you did an amazing job with your smackdown!
Hi Camyrn,
ReplyDeleteI love that you chose Lululemon, one of my favorite stores, and Shein to compare. I use both websites and I would agree with you that Lululemon's website is very aesthetically pleasing while Shein really isn't. I have also experienced that Shein may be slow and glitchy at times. I 100% agree that I'd rather shop at Lulu for more money than at Shein for cheap clothes. Great presentation!
